We have a fun tradition here at Stahl when it comes to celebrating team birthdays involving a birthday cake. You may think there isn’t anything special about that, but our cakes are rather exceptional. First of all, we have to mention that our tradition’s founder and cake creator is Mario Delgado. True, he’s not actually known for extraordinary pastry skills which is why it’s perfect that his specialty cakes are virtual. He’ll whip one up to be shared first thing on the morning of his team member’s birthday. And the best part is, they are always unique to that individual and sent with a heartfelt and always comical sentiment from Mario.
When your team is spread across the state, this mode of celebrating with a cake has proven to work really well for us. Each of us has the chance to participate as the workday allows and, as the email thread tends to take on a life of its own, there is always a little levity and lots of team bonding.
