OSHPD Webinars: Updates to the 2019 California Building Standards Code

May 6, 2020

One of the complexities of serving the healthcare construction industry in the State of California is not only understanding the purpose of but also adhering to the guidelines set forth by the Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development, a.k.a., OSHPD. Our company was built on education gained by Walter Stahl through years of working for OSHPD. But that doesn’t mean we don’t continue to learn. Building codes are an ever-evolving set of rules.

Currently, Stahl team members are participating in OSHPD’s series of webinars, “Updates to the 2019 California Building Standards Code – Changes Impacting Hospital Design and Construction and What to Expect” where we continue our education because we are dedicated to on-going learning to support our clients.
OSHPD identifies this 4-part series this way:

“Are your hospital construction plans up to code? Every three years, California adopts a new set of building codes. The 2019 California Building Standards Code (CBSC), California Code of Regulations, Title 24, was published in July 2019 and became effective January 1, 2020. That means all building permit applications submitted on or after January 1 must be compliant with the 2019 code. Changes to the code are significant and broad in scope. Hospitals planning or considering new construction projects should not miss this informational four-session webinar series.

Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD) Technical Lead Disciplines will outline important changes to the CBSC and explain what hospitals, design professionals, and their construction teams should consider to achieve compliance.”

We will be there bolstering our knowledge to contribute to your next project.
