Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing
Located just north of San Diego, the Encinitas Nursing and Rehabilitation Center recently faced what could have been a dire situation when excessive water and a failed retaining wall caused a mudslide, subsequently causing the partial collapse of an exterior building wall.
A number of residents were safely relocated to another Covenant Care community in La Jolla.
Temporary shoring has been implemented as abatement takes place. Remediation will also include asbestos and mold mitigation in the areas damaged by mud and water infiltration.
Currently, design is in progress for the replacement retaining wall and restoration of the exterior building envelope. Also being developed are effective new shoring solutions.
The Stahl Companies has provided additional support by identifying issues and assembling costs to assist Covenant Care in their insurance claim process.
Soon, the balance of displaced residents will be able to return to their skilled nursing community in Encinitas.
