Acute Care Hospitals
The Central Sterile Processing Department (CSPD) Remodel project is approaching completion. We are turning over portions of Phase 4 of this 5-phase project for integration into Mercy San Juan’s Decontamination and Sterile Processing operations. This is an exciting milestone for hospital staff as the CSPD team has patiently awaited their new space, which includes three new washers, a new conveyor system, and a new three-bay sink in an expanded footprint. Also completed in Quarter 1 is a new IT room which will immediately serve Phase 4 equipment and will ultimately serve the equipment for all five phases once the final cutovers are complete. This phase has benefited greatly from the collaboration of our project team, hospital staff, and executive leadership. The project team and clinical teams throughout the building have worked together in mitigating construction impacts to the existing operations over the past several months – Phase 4 completion is a hard-earned achievement for all who have invested in making this project a success!
The remaining work for this project is expected to be complete in Q2 which will include a Clean Linen remodel, installation of a new pass-through window between the Decontamination and Sterile Processing areas, and the remodel of the existing vestibule entrance to Decontamination.
