Dignity Health, Mercy San Juan Medical Ctr – CSPD

The Central Sterile Processing Department (CSPD) Remodel project was completed in June of 2022 when Phase 4 of this 5-phase project was integrated into Mercy San Juan’s Decontamination and Sterile Processing operations. This was an exciting milestone for hospital staff as the CSPD team had patiently awaited their new space. It included three new washers, a new conveyor system, and a new, three-bay sink in an expanded footprint.  As the final cutovers were completed, a new IT room began servicing the equipment of all five phases.

This project benefited greatly from the collaboration of our project team, hospital staff, and executive leadership. The project team and clinical teams throughout the building had worked together in mitigating construction impacts on the existing operations.

Also completed were a Clean Linen remodel, the installation of a new pass-through window between the Decontamination and Sterile Processing areas, and the remodel of the existing vestibule entrance to Decontamination. It was a hard-earned achievement for all who invested in making this project a success!
