Doheny Building Renovation

USC recently purchased the Doheny building. The 4-story + basement DVRC (Doheny Vision Research Ctr) building is empty and Stahl is leading a team of engineers and contractors to complete an extensive and timely systems condition assessment of this structure. Stahl is proud to be part of a project that will eventually bring this vacated building back to useful life.

There is no greater rivalry in the Los Angeles area than that of USC vs UCLA. The recent purchase of this building was a great victory for the USC Real Estate group. The Doheny building was originally constructed in the 1970s and owned by UCLA for many of the ensuing years, despite the location of surrounding USC Medical buildings.

The Stahl Companies was eager to accept the opportunity to partner with USC on this endeavor. We have assembled a highly technical Team to perform our role as Owner’s Representative bringing together experienced professionals for design, planning, procurement, and construction.

The Doheny building is comprised of two levels for parking and four levels for office and lab space. The Lower Basement floor is used for parking while the Upper Basement floor is half made up of parking use and the other half used for vivarium lab space. Floor 1 contains office spaces while floors 2 through 4 are lab spaces.

Our Stahl team is assisting in the management of all required building upgrades from code compliance through building infrastructure and design through close-out. We are also managing the renovation of all tenant improvements such as the student library lounge and an auditorium for lectures.

Working side by side with the Owner and the General Contractor, The Stahl Companies has assumed the role of guiding the Team to success. Go Trojans!
