Designing and Constructing Radiation Oncology Center Therapy Vault

The Radiology Oncology Center (ROC) was completed in 2020 for Washington Hospital Healthcare System. The project scope included the design and construction of a new radiation therapy vault, access area, and control/work area for radiology equipment in the existing Radiology Oncology Center. In addition, the expansion will hold a Varian TrueBeam system in a Mega Shield vault 147# system. This complex system required close coordination of the various consultants and close attention to detailed scheduling.

The move coordination involved the removal of existing radiology equipment and replacement with the new Varian TrueBeam system. Tenant improvements were also included as part of the scope of the work. This included new casework, finishes inside an existing vault room, luminous ceiling panels, flooring, and a new control area.

We always worked collaboratively

It was a real pleasure working with Stahl during this project. We always communicated timely and worked collaboratively to resolve any issues that came up. We are excited that it is now complete, and I look forward to the next project that I will be working with Stahl.
