Men’s Retreat and Women’s Retreat

September 23, 2019

Fishing, a relaxing, sometimes competitive sport cherished by many. Fishing, a sport where our Stahl men tend to embrace the relaxation side.

A number of years ago, Walt Stahl decided it would be a great idea to include the men from our Stahl team on a fishing trip tradition started by his friends and family. Now, each year in July, they make the long scenic drive to their destination in the valley between the Sierra Nevada and White mountains. Here, they set up camp for a few days of relaxation and bonding over fishing and grilling, sometimes mutually exclusive activities. Hiking, campfires, creative meals, and lots of laughs take the edge off busy preceding workweeks.

A couple of years into the men’s tradition, the Stahl women thought it was time to start creating some memories of their own. Each year a destination is chosen where relaxation can’t be avoided – sometimes near a river, a lake, or the ocean and almost always in proximity of a charming rural town with good restaurants and if not a winery, a good wine menu.

Regardless of the location or activities, the time spent together outside of the office gives each of us a better sense of and appreciation for the people on our team. This kind of bonding helps to promote many of our Core Values promoting a healthy team camaraderie back at the office.
